Over a fun afternoon at the cosy reDPan Cafe, they will share with you techniques on using soft pastel crayons, which have extremely intense and smooth colours, making them easy to mix and blend.
Pastels are ideal both for drawing fine details and shading larger areas.
The Instructress
With a great passion in arts and crafts, Pearl Tang strongly believes in art therapy that uses the creative process of making art and craft works, to improve a person’s physical, mental and emotional well-being.
Pearl is a trained and certified facilitator in both academic training as well as creative art and craft. She is also a trainer with People’s Association, and an active volunteer to senior citizens and persons with special needs.
Skills Learned
- Introduction to the techniques of painting with pastel colours
- Using your fngers to transfer the pigments on to the art papers
- Creating paper stencils of different shapes
- Visualizing the big picture and completing a full pastel painting
