Our Numbers Come Alive Programme is back this March Holiday!
We welcome any Nursery children from the age of 3 to 4 years old to have a fun time with numbers.
Have the flexibility to choose from a range of dates spanning throughout the one week holiday period to accommodate to your schedule.
What will we be learning
With the incorporation of songs, stories, and exploration of loose parts, children will be engaged in a series of hands-on activities to grasp the foundational concepts of numbers.
The main learning concepts that will be covered are:
- Numbers Recognition (Names, Shapes and Sequence)
- Counting in one-to-one correspondence
- Place Value (Ones and Tens)
- Introduction to number splitting
- Introduction to addition and subtraction
With the usage of abacus, children will also be introduced to:
- The structure of an abacus
- Using the correct fingering to maneuver beads
- Push up two-digit numbers with identification of tens and ones
- Develop beads recognition and formation skills
- Attempt simple addition and subtraction sums
With the usage of concrete materials, it will help with the development of:
- Fine motor skills
- Hand-eye coordination
- Problem solving skills
- Concentration and perseverance skills
