STEM Camps @Genius Assembly

Lego Science & Robotics(6-8 yrs)

This is a unique course that teaches robotics and computational thinking clubbed with a Science Theme.

Students build and program different machines each day using Lego and program them using block based programming language.

The progression and difficulty level in the projects allow students to develop competency while exploring and learning about key science topics.

Devices and Lego sets will be provided by us. Lego education sets( Lego Wedo 2.0 and Simple Machines) will be used during this course.

Learning Outcome

  • Computational/Coding Skills, Understanding of how Robots work, Problem-solving, Structured-thinking

Lego Advanced Robotics(9-12 yrs)

This course is a hands-on, cross-curricular program that engages and challenges school students to practice their STEM and robotics skills in a ‘near real-world’ environment. Lego Mindstorms EV3 set is used.

The topics covered are

  • Introductory models to understand programmings and controlling long and medium motors, ultrasonic sensor, colour sensor, touch and gyro sensor
  • Line follower robotic model
  • Warehouse base robotics model

Learning Outcome

  • Computational/Coding Skills, Understanding of basic Robotics , Fine control of electric motors and sensors, Problem-solving

Coding with Micro:bit (8-10 yrs)

micro:bit is a pocket-sized computer designed by the BBC in the UK. It is used by schools in the UK to teach computer education initially. Many schools world-wide started adopting using micro:bit to teach computing as part of the push towards STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) education.

The course has a unique mix of introductory notes and fun challenges that will get the learners programming the micro:bit in no time. Each participant will get a micro:bit to learn about the hardware and how to program it using the block editor.

Learning Outcome

  • Computational skills, Problem solving, Spirit of innovation

Coding with Lego (4-6 yrs)

This course is a creative and intuitive program that introduces young learners to early coding and problem solving skills, while naturally sparking their curiosity, creativity and desire to explore and learn together.

Kids do various activities to learn the concepts of coding and robotics. Learn coding using an electronic mouse in a maze, build models using Lego Simple machines and Wedo, Learn coding concepts using Lego Coding express, Program motors and sensors to run robotic machines, solve coding puzzles and much more.

Once your kid has understood the basic concepts, he/she can use any programming language or app to code games and animations with ease.

Learning Outcome

  • Computational/Coding Skills, Understanding of basic Robotics , Fine control of electric motors and sensors, Problem-solving
