GESS Talks: Championing Children with Attentional Disorders


GESS parents and friends are invited to an informational evening about "Championing Children with Attentional Disorders"

 

Guest speaker

Shrimathi, Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience in various clinical settings. She currently runs her private practice, Psynaptica in Singapore where she works with a diverse expat client population. She is passionate about helping children and adults with ADHD. With specialized training in neuropsychology and a keen interest in neuroscience, she delivers an integrative approach to the assessment and treatment of ADHD. She runs ADEPT, a strengths-based integrated behavioural skills training group for children aged 7-12 with ADHD and related behavioural issues. The programme aims to help children achieve personal and academic success and experience happiness despite challenges. She routinely collaborates with parents and teachers for the best mental health outcomes.

The talk will:

  • Help you understand ADHD – what it is, what are common symptoms of the disorder and its impact on the child.
  • Suggest tips and strategies for parents to help children with ADHD improve attention, task focus and completion and self-management.
