This Disney animated feature follows the adventures of the young lion cub prince Simba (Jonathan Taylor Thomas/Matthew Broderick), who is tricked by his treacherous uncle Scar (Jeremy Irons) into thinking he caused a tragic accident involving his father Mufasa (James Earl Jones). This leads to Simba's exile where he befriends the laidback Timon (Nathan Lane) and Pumbaa (Ernie Sabella). It's only later, as Simba grows into adulthood that he begins to understand his identity and responsibilities.
