Little Skoolz is proud to present our Science with Code for December 2021!

Our 5-day camp is jam packed with exciting activities and games to get your child to think deeply about and discover the world of Science & Entrepreneurship through a series of carefully curated activities!

Using STEAM-based approach, which stands for SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ARTS and MATHEMATICS, not only will your child learn about the relevant Science subjects, but they will also pick up Coding & Entrepreneurial skills. They will be challenged to think critically, make informed decisions and practise problem solving using this multifaceted learning approach.

SCIENCE WITH CODES via Scratch

Scratch is a programming language targeted at children aged from 7 to12. At the end of this camp, your child will learn about programming and how to use Scratch to create their own project.

Day 1: LIFE CYCLE OF PLANTS

How do different plants look as they grow from seeds to young plants and eventually harvested? Children get to discuss which plants common foods come from and learn about 5 growth stages in plant life cycle.

Day 2: SOLAR PANELS

Today, most of our electrical energy comes from fossil fuels and this causes environmental harm. Is there other way to generate electricity? Learn about solar energy and how it can be an alternative to fossil fuels.

Day 3: CLIMATE CHANGE

There are many human activities that cause damage to the environment, but which one are they? Children get to learn about those activities and come up with some solutions to protect our Mother Earth.

Day 4: PHOTOSYNTHESIS

Ever wondered how plants grow? Discover how plants make food with chlorophyll and the importance of photosynthesis. Learn to fix the coding project by applying the concept of debugging.

Day 5: IMPORTANCE OF WATER & OCEAN CLEAN-UP

Beaches are lovely places we can visit to relax. However, have you ever noticed how polluted they are? Where does all this trash come from? Can you imagine a world without water? How would it affect our everyday life? What about plants and ocean creatures? Learn about the impacts of plastic pollution in oceans and beaches. Reflect on the importance of water to the world and the need for us to conserve it and keep it clean.
