The Pecah Panggung Parade is a vibrant moving festival celebrating the diverse Malay communities that shaped Kampong Gelam, featuring themed pushcarts and cultural performances that showcase living traditions and heritage in motion. Starting at Bussorah Street and culminating at MHC's front lawn, the parade marks the official reopening of the Malay Heritage Centre.

Anyaman Warna: Creating a Community Batik

Discover traditional textile-making techniques in this hands-on family workshop that celebrates creativity and cultural expression. Participants will be introduced to batik painting and canting techniques.
Guided by experienced facilitators, families will also explore colours and motifs while contributing to a community fabric. This shared creative process encourages collaboration and imagination, while allowing families to bond through a cultural experience.
Irama Warisan: Schools’ Ethnic Music Showcase

Celebrate the energy and creativity of young performers at this lively mass performance featuring students from schools across Singapore. This showcase presents a dynamic mix of traditional and contemporary Malay performing arts, brought to life through instruments such as the angklung, kulintang, and gamelan.
Set in an open-air setting, the performance creates a warm, festive atmosphere and welcomes audiences of all ages and backgrounds. With interactive segments woven into the showcase, you can’t help but be part of the celebration itself.
Wajah Nusantara: Design Your Own Nusantara Masks

Bring your family and get creative at this hands-on drop-in activity! Inspired by traditional performance arts and regional motifs, children can choose from various mask designs decorate their very own creation using meaningful patterns from across the Nusantara. With plenty of space to create, experiment, and play, this relaxed session turns cultural discovery into a fun art adventure.
Join us at the courtyard and create a mask that’s uniquely yours, inspired by heritage and imagination.

Alight at Bugis (EW12) station. MHC is about 10 minutes walk from the train station.
By Bus:

Carpark Facilities:
If you are driving, you can park your vehicles at the public carparks along Aliwal Street, Kandahar Street and Pahang Street or at the multi-storey carparks at Textile Centre and Sultan Plaza. Parking charges are applicable.
