Established in 1938, the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts is Singapore’s pioneer arts education institution

 

Widely recognised in Southeast Asia, NAFA’s reputation is founded on its innovative curriculum and teaching approaches, as well as its diverse artistic creations. NAFA receives polytechnic-level funding from the Ministry of Education, Singapore and is the first comprehensive arts education institution to receive the coveted 4-year EduTrust certification awarded by the Committee for Private Education in 2011. NAFA was re-awarded this certification in 2015, for another 4 years.

NAFA offers the following specialised programmes under the School of Art and Design, School of Arts Management, Dance and Theatre, and School of Music:

The Academy conducts a comprehensive range of full-time diploma courses and delivers degree programmes in partnership with reputable universities from Singapore and the UK. Courses are taught by an international faculty of academics and leading arts practitioners who are passionate about imparting lifelong skills in the arts. Courses are designed to enable students to think critically, creatively and independently and at the same time master important technical skills in a disciplined and structured pace. Engagement and partnerships with industry, the arts community and cultural organisations are regular features and part of the learning process to help our students acquire a repertoire of complex skills-set and knowledge.
