This Christmas, we invite you to celebrate the festive season by spreading joy and cheer!

 

Learn how we can be kind to mother nature in an upcycling workshop where you will create a handcrafted gift for friends and loved ones!

Gather your friends and family for an in-gallery activity or listen to a story about spreading happiness and catch a roving choir performance of joy and celebration. Little ones can also make a handmade token to take home.

A Lighter Side of History: Let's Meet For Coffee

  • Sat 17 Dec

Gather around, coffee drinkers! Join us as we learn how to repurpose coffee grounds by transforming them into soap. A nifty gift idea for your friends and loved ones in time for the season of joy and cheer!

This programme will include handling the following ingredients:

  • Coconut oil
  • Palm oil
  • Safflower oil
  • Vegetable glycerin
  • Soybean
  • Aloe vera
  • Essential oils

Christmas Storytelling: Marky Polo in Singapore

Listen to this tale of Marky Polo, a pangolin that comes from a family of avid explorers and travellers, as he and his friends go on an adventure to bring joy and cheer to his fun-loving young cousin Merry, who is visiting Singapore for the first time! 

Based on the book Marky Polo in Singapore, this storytelling session will be facilitated by its author Emily Lim and a team of storytellers for an afternoon of tales and craft-making!

Drop-in Craft Activity: Shrink Art Christmas Ornaments

Get creative and craft your own festive ornaments to hang on your Christmas tree or gift it to a loved one to spread cheer!

Be inspired by the museum’s collection and create your very own shrink art design in this fun merry activity!

Things to Note:
*Slot at 10.30am is prioritised for people with disabilities
*Children must be accompanied by a parent

Roving Choir Performance by Resonance of Singapore

  • 3.30pm – 4.15pm
  • Various Locations
  • Free

We’re bringing back the popular roving choir this Christmas! Be sure to catch Resonance of Singapore and sing along as they perform favourite holiday tunes at different locations in the museum.

Incorporated in 2022, the Resonance of Singapore Ltd. (ROS) is the first non-profit organisation helmed by a professional vocal ensemble comprising of award-winning singers and an internationally acclaimed conductor.

Schedule

  • 3.30pm: Baroque Staircase (nearest to ticketing counter)
  • 3.45pm: Wooden Bridge (near Life in SG Galleries)
  • 4.00pm: Staircase (leading to Level 3)

Search for the artefacts based on the description provided, snap a photo of it and tell us what it is. Complete the activity to stand a chance to redeem a Christmas token from the museum!
