Children's Art Studio @ Affordable Art Fair

Children can enjoy their dose of art when they join at the Affordable Art Fair!

Affordable Art Fair is delighted to be the provider of children’s activities at the fair's Children's Art Studo from 7 to 9 April. They’ll be presenting Isabelle Desjeux’s art installation, ‘Knock, Knock? Who Lives There?’ – a favourite last hands-on exhibition, ‘Hideaways – Creating with Nature’.

'Knock Knock! Who Lives There?' is an interactive art installation for children using the local bugs of Singapore as a departing point for inspiration.

  • The children are invited to observe the various bugs through a projection microscope, in glass jars, or on screen (footage of local bugs close-up).
  • They can look at various “homes”, from honeycombs to spider webs and birds nests, all displayed on the table.
  • They can also go and read about them in the cosy book corner, set-up with cushions.
  • Inspired, the children can draw the insect of their choice, or even write them a letter, to be posted on the spot!
  • Finally, they can also create their own insect, out of clay and recycled material, following the guideline for the body plan of the different insect families and adding their own touch of fantasy to it!
  • The younger children can spend time at the “Bug Hotel”, creating their own configuration of holes and crevices for bugs to nest in.

You may register a slot for your child(ren) directly at the Children's Art Studio upon arrival. Activities are complimentary with admission to the Affordable Art Fair. Please note that the activities will be available on a session-by-session basis.
