A Very Singaporean Easter at Carousel, Royal Plaza on Scotts

A Very Singaporean Easter at Carousel, Royal Plaza on Scotts

Celebrate Easter Sunday with a blast from Singapore’s past at Carousel, Royal Plaza on Scotts.

On 21 April, guests can feast their way down memory lane with a medley of Easter specials, local heritage dishes and old school snacks served from a kacang puteh cart. Kids can enjoy an Easter egg hunt and interact with Mr Easter Bunny, dressed up as a kacang puteh man for the day.

This year, Carousel’s culinary team dishes out an array of fiery local heritage delights, featuring the all-time favourite Singapore Chilli Crab, but this time, served with Hot Cross Mantous to mark the occasion.

Other local dishes include:

  • Wok-fried Cereal Prawns with Chilli Padi
  • Slow-braised Beef Rendang with Spices
  • Grilled Barbecue Sambal Stingray
  • Pan-fried Fresh Oysters in Crispy Batter with Chives and Home-made Chilli (Live station)

Traditional Easter specials will be available as well:

  • Oven-roasted Whole Baby Lamb
  • Oven-roasted Prime Ribs with Yorkshire Pudding and Jacket Potatoes
  • Colourful Boiled Eggs
  • Simnel Cake
  • Chocolate Orange Tarts

Carousel will also bring back the kacang puteh cart – a popular traditional street snack stall which serves an assortment of nuts and crackers in hand rolled paper cones. With both sweet and savoury options, guests can create their own cones based on personal preference. Reminisce those childhood times with the old school biscuits and ding ding candy guaranteed put a smile on faces. There will be the irresistible iced gem biscuits, butterfly ear biscuits, chocolate wafers and more!

What’s Easter without an egg hunt? Carousel’s version comes with a twist – kids will be given a map to hunt for local dishes hidden in the restaurant. Those who get it right will receive chocolates eggs from Mr Easter Bunny and learn fun facts about the history behind each local dish. Aside from their loot of chocolate eggs, the kids will also get to pick a prize from the tikam tikam board, a traditional game of luck played back in the day, most commonly found at provision shops or toy stores.
