Curious Robot Maker I
This introductory course is for students that have little or no experience in Robotics. Over 6 weeks, students will learn the basics of robotics and block-based programming.
Each week, students will explore a science or engineering-related topic and build different robots that focus on different elements of basic robotic movement, such as walk, drive, wobble etc. As they work on the activities, students will get a better understanding of how motor, gears, pulleys & sensors work together and how to program their robot to perform the various missions, developing their problem-solving skills.
Outline
- Intro to Robotics using LEGO WeDo
- Learn basic Robotic Movement & Sensors
- Learn basic Block-based Programming concepts
- Motivate interest in learning science or engineering-related topics and develop problem-solving skills through hands-on activities
Structure
- 6 weekly classes, once a week, 1.5 hours per class
- Class size up to 8 students, minimum 4 to start
- Robotics Sets and Tablets will be provided
Curious Robot Maker II
This course is a progression for student that has completed our Curious Robot Maker I or had some hands-on experiences in Robotics.
Over 6 weeks, students will further their understanding of robot designs and programming concept. With a focus on group work, students will use their creativity and their newly acquired robotic skills to design solutions to real-world problems, such as designing smart cities, building a waste recycle centre or a satellite communication system.
By engaging in such stimulating & fun projects, students can experiment with their ideas and bring their creations to life, thereby generating excitement and the desire to discover more.
