Doll Workshop: Making 'Ploid' with Angeline Kin

Doll Workshop: Making 'Ploid' with Angeline Kin

A Doll Workshop: Making 'Ploid' with Angeline Kin

The Studio has a guest artist coming in to show how to make 'ploid', Angeline's quirky made-up word to describe the combination of puppet, aliens and humanoids. Using craft materials and tons of colourful wools, come join a round of learning and experimenting, in creating very own 'ploid' doll!

Each child will create their own ‘Ploid’ doll and story.

About the guest artist, Angeline Kin: Angeline Kin was born and raised in South Africa, but left after earning her degree in architecture. She lived and worked in the East, finally choosing Singapore as home. She is an art-enthusiast/explorer and registered art therapist. Angeline loves transforming ordinary objects into new works of art, of crafting ‘something from nothing’, of making meaning out of the random. She sees creativity as an attitude and the art process an exploration. She enjoys painting and mixed media. Her current mode is wools and textiles: knitting and crocheting sculptural forms to express emotions as visceral creatures. Through the doll workshop, she hopes to introduce the joy of creative freedom and imaginative self expression.
