Vienna Boys Choir: Fly With Me
Imagine listening to one of the most beautiful and purest voices on earth. That of the Vienna Boys Choir (VBC). The VBC have been described as Vienna’s youngest ambassadors. The choir, with its history dating back some 500 years ago – the middle ages, is one of the world’s oldest surviving choirs. Famous composers such as Bruckner, Haydn, Mozart and Schubert have written for the choir. Many great musicians got started as members of the Boys’ Choir; among them, the great conductors Hans Richter, Clemens Krauss and Lovro von Matacic. Over the years, many regard the Vienna Boys Choir to be Austria’s National Treasure.
Following the success of the January 2018 tour, we bring you the Vienna Boys Choir back in Singapore again in 2019. This time we have two members Mu Qian (from Singapore) and Mateo (based in Singapore) who has been selected to be part of the Vienna Boys Choir and will be on tour in 2019 to Singapore as part of their Asia tour. We are planning engagements with the local community and some workshops with the local choral community in this annual SVBC Week in Singapore: See, Sing and Study with the Vienna Boys Choir in Singapore.

We hope that through participation in the SVBC week, we can not only preserve the rich heritage of choral music, but can also find our own uniquely Singapore voice and then bring the choral community together.
