Weekends at The Artground 30 - 31 March

Weekends at The Artground 30 - 31 March

The Artground has a variety of age-specific drop-in programmes on the weekends that participants will get to enjoy!

From 24th January till 5th May 2019, we present Wild Rumpus –  an invitation into an imaginary world of creatures big, small, flurry or gentle, and to make friends whoever is hiding behind the corner. Embrace the world of tactile material and feel what it is like to hug, cuddle and squeeze into something out of the ordinary. Entry into The Artground itself is free and donations are encouraged.

TAG Drop-in Programmes

Every weekend, The Artground organises a variety of age-specific drop-in programmes that participants will get to enjoy on a first come, first served basis, inside our Whitebox. Each programme will be charged at $10 per parent-child pair. You can purchase a single ticket, TAG cards for 5 or 10 + 1 sessions at $50 and $100 respectively at the reception. There is no registration for these activities as they are first come, first served. An announcement will be made 5 mins before each programme and the first XX number of children in the queue will get to enjoy the programme (XX refers to the age-specified & capacity of the programme, ie Shapes Splash! is for the first 20 children 4 years and up).

30th March, Saturday

  • 10.30am: Little Green Thumbs by Cultivate Central - Worms Love Coffee (2 - 3 years): Children will get to meet the friendly creatures that live underground. Through observation of worms, and what they eat, the children will understand about compost, experience various sensory stimuli, and also get to bring back their very own coffee drawing!
  • 11.30am: Little Green Thumbs by Cultivate Central - Yummy Microgreens (4 years and up): In this workshop, children will create and design their own upcycled pot, and mix their own compost/soil, and bring home their own harvest of microgreens!
  • 2.30pm: Dance Playground with Rolypoly Family (4 - 8 years): Dance Playground is where we explore dance and movement through unusual play structures and get (a little) messy. We play games that transform dance and movement into visual forms. What do wiggles, jiggles, and squiggles create?
  • 3.30pm: Bitesized Lil' Creatures by Little Creatures by SA (5 - 30 months): Explore, experiment and simply experience with musicians in spontaneous musical play! Each session features live musicians as they explore creating meaningful sounds with babies.
  • 4.30pm: Craftermusician by My Piano Room (2 - 6 years): An exciting craft and music workshop rolled into one! Make your own music instruments and play on them immediately with our fun instructors! Be a craftermusician today!

31st March, Sunday

  • 10.30am: Cardboard City by Stan (Strictly Pre-walking babies): An exploration for pre-walking babies to inhabit and extend their spatial awareness amongst the everyday materials in this City designed just for them.
  • 11.30am: Terrific Tales by The Storytelling Centre Limited - Brave and Bold (3 - 7 years): The perfect introduction to the art of storytelling especially for little listeners. This month , join us for swashbuckling storytelling sessions with tales of brave heroes and bold heroines!
  • 2.30pm: Wriggle and Giggle ( 4 years and up): A fun, movement experience through dance. Get the kids up on their feet as they learn simple dance moves to a different song each session.
  • 3.30pm: Bitesized Lil' Creatures by Little Creatures by SA (5 - 30 months): Explore, experiment and simply experience with musicians in spontaneous musical play! Each session features live musicians as they explore creating meaningful sounds with babies.
