On the heels of working on The Little Company’s production of Errol’s Garden, March Stage Camp by Singapore Theatre Company is here to boost the creative skills of the young actors and instill love and appreciation for nature.
This camp tells mesmerizing stories:
For kids aged 4-6, it is about a neighborhood where kids decided to create their favorite place in the world - a garden where they can grow beautiful flowers, fragrant herbs, or juicy fruits. Through this story, kids will learn about community, conservation, and sustainability and grow in confidence, creativity, and communication. At the end of the week, they will perform on the stage and parents and friends will have a chance to observe their progress and success.
As for the kids aged 7-12, it is a story about turning old things into something new. Thus, an old egg crate can become a new seedling pot, a bottle can be turned into a suncatcher, and overall, what we consider trash, may become a real treasure.
During the camp, kids will work with recyclable materials to consolidate their knowledge and understanding of the main principles of sustainable lifestyle. And, perhaps, they will begin to see the things around them from a different perspective!
