Colouring Fun is for children between 2 – 4 years old.
*Colouring Fun participants will not be given a Certificate of Participation.
Drawing Competition
Unleash your children’s imagination and creativity! Come participate in the Octoburst! Drawing Competition and spend a meaningful children’s day at the Esplanade!
Who can enter?
Open to children aged between 5 – 12 years old and divided into three categories.
- Category A: 5 & 6 years old
- Category B: 7 – 9 years old (Lower Primary)
- Category C: 10 – 12 years old (Upper Primary)
What can I use to draw?
A3-sized drawing paper bearing the Esplanade stamp will be provided on the day of the competition. Participants are required to bring their own drawing materials. Only crayons, pastels and/or colour pencils are allowed.
Judging Criteria
Entries will be judged based on the participants’ skill, originality, creativity and relevance to the theme.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded at the end of the competition to the top 3 entries and 10 merit winners in each category. All participants will each receive a Certificate of Participation.
Top 3 winning entries of each category will be displayed at Esplanade Festival Corner from 6 – 8 Oct 2017.
Here are some important things to know:
- Online registration for the competition closes at 11.59pm on 3 Oct 2017.
- Participant’s information must be correct at the point of registration. Esplanade will use this information when printing the Certificate of Participation for each participant.
- Official identification of the participant must be presented upon request during collection of the drawing competition pack.
- No changes to the participant’s details will be allowed after registration and collection of the competition pack.
- Participants who register to compete in the wrong age category will be disqualified.
- All participants of the Octoburst! Drawing Competition will each receive a competition pack which contains a Certification of Participation and a piece of A3-sized drawing paper bearing the Esplanade stamp.
- Participants must submit their entry on the drawing paper provided.
- Each participant may submit only one drawing.
- A parent or guardian must accompany the participant at all times.
- Participants are required to bring their own drawing materials i.e. pencils, crayons and colour pencils. No poster colour paints are allowed. Entries with colour paints will be disqualified.
- All entries must be the original work of the participant, completed on-the-spot at Esplanade on 6 Oct 2017, Fri, between 8.30am to 11.30am. Any false representation, erroneous information, or a violation of these rules and regulations or general objectives of the competition (such as helping the participant develop or colour the artwork during the competition), will result in the immediate disqualification of the participant.
- All entries shall become the property of Esplanade upon submission and will not be returned to the participants. Esplanade shall also own the copyright of the entries.
- Esplanade will not be responsible for any lost or damaged entries.
- It is compulsory for participants to write their mobile phone number at the back of the drawing paper. Esplanade will refer to the phone number on the drawing paper to contact the winners. Winners will be notified to meet at a specific location 45 minutes before the prize-giving ceremony.
- All winners are required to attend a prize-giving ceremony to be held at Esplanade Concourse on Fri, 6 Oct 2017, 1.30pm.
- Winners may be required to produce proof of identification for the collection of prizes in the event of a dispute or discrepancy.
- All winners who are unable to attend the prize-giving ceremony will be notified via email to collect the prize on a working day by 31 Oct 2017, between 9am to 6pm. Prizes not collected by 31 Oct 2017 will be forfeited.
- Top 3 winning entries of each category will be displayed at Esplanade Festival Corner from 6 – 8 Oct 2017. All other winning entries (merit) will be uploaded at www.esplanade.com/octoburst.
