Under the guidance of esteemed choral director, Mr Nelson Kwei, the Victoria Junior College Choir has grown from strength to strength since its humble beginnings in 1985.
The Choir has garnered numerous awards over the years, such as attaining Gold Awards in all the categories they competed in during the 2004 Choir Olympics and emerging as the Grand Champions in the Riva del Garda Choir Competition 2006 held in Italy. In 2015, the Choir took part in the Hoi An International Choir competition held in Vietnam, where they were Champions in four categories. More recently, the Choir has not only attained the highest honour of Distinction in the Singapore Arts Presentation 2015, but also clinched the title of Grand Champions at the 2018 Asia Cantate Competition held in Hong Kong. A Choir recognised both locally and internationally for its mastery of choral music, the VJC Choir once again presents its annual concert Symphony of Voices. This promises to be an evening of spectacular music, where the choir will showcase its musicality and versatility with a variety of songs ranging from sacred music of the Latin tradition to contemporary Asian and Western compositions.
