With the coming holiday, Forest School - Singapore is launching the forest school holiday camp series, “Coach Yuan Ting Forest Camp” from 20 November 2017 all the way to 22 December 2017.
The experience allows children to connect with nature and explore their inner emotion, curiosity and awareness.
- To give children the space to lead their own play and learning.
- Grow in confidence and resilience.
- Develop their own learning for their own interest.
Who is Coach Yuan Ting?
She has worked with youth and young adults over the last 9 years and facilitated experiential learning programmes in a variety of institutional and community settings. She is a certified NLP Masters Practitioner, a life coach in training, an experiential learning facilitator and also a proponent of Waldorf pedagogy. To date, she has clocked over 500 hours in coaching and facilitation.
Yuan Ting’s background is in biology where she has spent many enjoyable hours watching orangutans and spiders for her previous Master’s research. Her love for nature and the outdoors led her to spend time in scouting and guiding activities when she was younger, as well as volunteering at the zoo for seven years as an education ambassador. Having a unique background in both the sciences and the “softer” skill sets of facilitation allows her to bring a diverse set of perspectives to any programme.
Two things close to Yuan Ting’s heart are holistic education and personal development. To her, holistic education is a process where children are exposed to a wide range of experiences and given the opportunity to understand themselves better. These experiences would involve all aspects of body, mind, heart and spirit and encourage a curiosity for life, resilience and a love for learning. Children grow up being socially, environmentally and most importantly, self-aware, so that they can find their unique way to contribute back to people around them. Yuan Ting believes that every individual has the potential to become who they want to be.
