Immerse yourself in Japanese culture as we celebrate all things Japanese with a series of exciting cultural performances and activities!

 

Look forward to a diverse range of programmes for everyone, including traditional tea ceremony demonstrations, Ikebana workshops as well as Japanese folk dance and koto performances!

Koto & Er Hu

Marvel at the lush sounds of Japanese koto and Chinese erhu in this collaborative performance by Koto Group and the Niko Dokokai of The Japanese Association, Singapore.

Japanese Folk Dance

Dance along with Minyo Club of The Japanese Association, Singapore as they showcase folk dances handed down from all over Japan as well as Bon Odori which is composed in Singapore! Enjoy their performance!

Tea Ceremony Workshop

Participants will be briefed on the various types of tea ceremonies and the expected flow of a typical event at these tea ceremonies. They will be introduced to the various etiquette expected of a guest at a typical tea ceremony and practice etiquette when receiving, consuming and sharing the tea-session with other participants. At the end of session, participants will make a delicious Usucha (a thin matcha preparation).
