Toys Tour
The tour covers specially curated vintage stuff toys amongst 8,500 items of collection, featuring Steiff Golden Bear that is over 115 years old!
Why is this bear so unique? Take a look at the materials and processes that were used, and how is it different from the teddy bears sewn and made nowadays. Carrying the name as ‘The oldest and most famous teddy bear and soft toy manufacturer in the world’, how did Steiff company started out. Do you know the first stuff toy that they produced were not teddy bears but elephants?
Alongside Steiff Golden Bear, this tour will also introduce you to Winnie the Pooh, Noddy and Big Ears stuff toys. Sharing with you the intriguing stories they have, proving that they are more than just cartoon characters!
Stitch & Stuff Workshop
In this workshop, participants will get to pick up a useful skillset. Making your own stuff toy can be fun too. What are some of basic hand-sewing techniques you can learn and apply? What is a running stitch, how do you sew a back stitch or overcast stitch?
Imagine that you will be able to repurpose almost anything made from fabric with these basic techniques, most patterns only require a few basic stitches and our workshop fit the bill.
