Jazz Association (Singapore) (JASS) Presents: Celebrating International Jazz Day

Jazz Association (Singapore) (JASS) Presents: Celebrating International Jazz Day

UNESCO officially designated 30 April to be International Jazz Day in 2011.

In the spirit of uniting people from all corners of the globe through the universal language of jazz, join the Jazz Association (Singapore), otherwise known as JASS, and the young musicians from its youth orchestra, JassYO!, in commemorating International Jazz Day with a rousing concert the Sunday before.

The repertoire will comprise songs from original compositions by Singaporean jazz composers as well as international jazz standards. JASS’ Music Director and “Singapore’s King of  Swing” Jeremy Monteiro will be making an appearance to conduct and play a few tunes on the piano. The concert will also feature the Godfather of Singapore Jazz, Louis Soliano, on percussion. Louis will also sing a couple of songs, including the well-loved classic "What a Wonderful World."

So sit back and let the universal language of jazz lift your spirit and stir your soul.

Concert subject to prevailing weather conditions.

Concert-goers are advised to take public transport.
