PianoBotanica

PianoBotanica

PianoBotanica is back, in its annual feature of Bossa Nova and other Brazilian rhythms.

In memory of the passing of legendary Brazilian singer, songwriter and guitarist João Gilberto, often called “father of Bossa Nova” and “O Mito”, in July 2019, INDIGO, a group of talented musicians from Singapore, will perform his best-known works as a tribute to him. While being profoundly rooted in Brazilian sounds and syncopations, João Gilberto found a language that has been inspiring and delighting people all over the world since the 1950s.

This will be a heartfelt tribute to the magnificent Bossa Nova maestro.  INDIGO fronted by Dawn Ho on vocals, Munir Alsagoff on guitar, Mohammed Noor on drums, Kaye on saxophone with Mario Serio on piano, will present their own interpretations of João Gilberto’s songs as well as hits from legendary composer Antonio Carlos Jobim (Tom Jobim), Baden Powell, João Donato, Marcos Valle, Sergio Mendes, Maria Rita and Djavan.

This concert is held in conjunction with SBG160.

Concert subject to prevailing weather conditions.
Concert-goers are advised to take public transport.
