Singapore Dance Theatre (SDT) was established in 1988 and since then it has become the leading professional dance company in Singapore, fascinating the audience with its rich repertoire. SDT performs six seasons annually, while one of the most exciting and popular SDT's shows is an open-air performance that takes place once a year at Fort Canning Park - ballet under the stars consisting of 2 full-length classical performances.
Singapore Dance Theatre pays special attention to promoting dance culture and making wider audiences understand and appreciate arts.

Singapore Ballet Academy (SBA), founded in 1958, has raised the level of Singapore's dance scene and has nurtured a great number of talented dancers. Providing high-quality training for its students, SBA now is a very important part of Singapore's history and culture.

The Dance Appreciation Series
A product of collaboration between Esplanade Theatres and STD, The Dance Appreciation Series, is one of the theatre's education and outreach programmes, aimed at opening the art of ballet to a wider audience. Kids and youngsters will be engaged in an informative and entertaining interactive program, which will include fragments of classical ballet performances as well as comments and explanations.
