Classes and workshops are carefully curated to ignite creativity and encourage holistic development. Through engaging activities, aspiring young actors are introduced to the various aspects of performance and theatre production: stagecraft, character development, script analysis, devising, storytelling, audition preparation, writing, physicality and exploring world issues from acting and improvisation to set design and lighting.

Pure play! and Musical play! classes are the dynamic introductions to theatre for the youngest children, 5 – 8 y.o. They are invited to discover their creativity and unleash their imaginations through games, free play and storytelling, or to learn acting, build confidence and collaborate through song and dance.

Play up! program gives older children, 9-11 y.o. the freedom to explore their identity while having fun and learning how to create brand new works of theatre! Improvisation and theatre making tasks will run alongside games and fun activities!

Children attending Impact collective are around age 12 to 15. A variety of theatre making devices and theatrical styles - improvisation, provocation, physicality, story-telling, and world and character building - will be explored to support these young artists in forging their own creative methodologies.

Performance ensemble is for young adults, 14 – 18 y.o. Guided by award-winning theatre maker and applied theatre practitioner, Claire Glenn, young artists will be given the space to create the work that they want to create. Throughout the year, the ensemble will experiment with improvisation, scene work, devising, character development, writing, movement, vocal work, monologues and more!

The Performance Ensemble is currently at capacity, working on a production of Motor-mouth & Suck-face: An Apocalyptic Love Story by Anthony Crawley which will be performed 15 - 17 December 2023. You are welcome to join the waiting list! Other classes’ public presentations are at the end of final term.

Seimpi Education

New times call for new solutions - that's why Seimpi's experts have reorganized their courses to meet the high demands of teaching and learning. These courses take full advantage of the child's ability to absorb the maximum amount of information that is provided in a fun and motivating way.

Teachers of Seimpi Education Group know perfectly well how to create an interdisciplinary learning environment where children can develop the skills required to succeed in the chosen field. Thus, children learn through engaging activities like ensemble performances, acting and singing and music and get ready for any challenge they may face in this new economy.

Speech and Drama (Chinese/English)

Language is the very foundation on which we rely to interact and communicate with others. A child’s language development capabilities are greatly influenced by being in a positive environment rich with words, rhythm, sounds, etc. Speech & Drama is one way for your child to be immersed in this environment. Speech is key. Acting is a craft. Both are essential ingredients in the development of an imaginative and exciting performance. Recently the Economic Development Board chief has said that digital and technical skills alone will not be enough. Soft skills like the ability to tell a story, have empathy, and create connections with others – will help people stand out and differentiate themselves. This is where a good performing arts education helps.

In Seimpi, they aid the learning of language and soft skills through Speech & Drama, using our MIM philosophy. Many parents have had their child benefit from Speech and Drama. The development of motor skills is one of the main concerns of parents, and through drama such skills will be reinforced. Besides developing the child’s social awareness and interactive skills, they are also exposed to other skills like exploring their critical thinking skill. In Seimpi, they teach them to improve their writing, performing and speaking ability, activate their emotional senses, widen their imagination based on a word or situation, emphasize English/Chinese proficiency, etc. Most important of all is to have fun while learning the skills.

Classes are for 3 years old onwards.
